Proximity Reader
Model AM-PR

  • Works with both proximity tags and proximity cards
  • 26-bit Wiegand output
  • Weather resistant and vandal resistant
  • 4 to 6 inch read range
  • Supports up to 65,000 cards
  • Easy to install
  • Integral LED confirms when user access is granted

For adding proximity sensing to any access control system, Linear offers the AM-PR Proximity Reader. This close-range radio-based reader works with either proximity tags (Model AM-PT) or proximity cards (Model AM-PC), both of which are slotted to attach to key rings. Upon reading a user's tag or card, it transmits the entry data via a 26-bit Wiegand output. And integral LED confirms to the user that access is granted.

The AM-PR is rugged, rated for use in extreme weather, and vandal resistant. Installation is easy - it mounts with two screws to a mullion, masonry wall, post, or nearly any surface. The unit requires 5 to 7 conductor 20 gauge shielded cable, a maximum of 500 feet. Power is supplied by the system controller.

Card Reader Interface Model AM-CRI

  • For equipping a Linear access control system with one or two Wiegand devices
  • Card reader interface can be used with up to two 26 or 31-bit Wiegand input devices
  • Power is supplied by system controller or external source for locally powered readers

To use AM-PR card readers or a variety of other Wiegand devices in a Linear access control system, the AM-CRI card reader interface is required. It will support up to two 26 or 31-bit Wiegand input device from any manufacturer, permitting easy interconnection of card readers, proximity readers, or other devices that use this industry standard.

The AM-CRI interface mounts near the readers and connects to the system controller through a six-wire cable. Power is supplied to the interface and the reader or readers from the controller or an external source for locally powered readers.

General Specifications

Power: supplied by an AM/II or Telephone Entry controller or external power for locally powered readers; jumper selectable

Capacity: up to two 26 or 31-bit Wiegand devices; two internal rotary switches select device address

Wiring: AM-CRI to controller; up to 300 feet, BELDEN 9931 (24 AWG); up to 500 feet, WEICO 9405 or equivalent (20 AWG)
